Coffee Bean Storage Tips

At Driven Coffee we have two main focuses. First and foremost we are a coffee company that prides ourselves on high quality FRESH roasted coffee delivered to you within days of the roast. Secondly, we aspire to make a difference in the world by giving back any way we can. Below are a few coffee bean storage tips from us on how to ensure the highest quality in every cup.

Coffee Bean Storage Tips

Tip 1 - Get whole beans fresh from your roaster- This is hands down the most important rule. When buying coffee from a small batch roaster like us, you are getting a product that is just days from the roast. If you start with coffee that was roasted months ago, you are working with an inferior product that will not produce the best cup of coffee possible. Did you know that most coffee purchased in a grocery store has an expiration six months after the roast date? Even when purchasing one of the major brands that sells quickly, you are working with coffee that is weeks, if not months old!

Tip 2 - Buy less coffee, more frequently- Try to buy the amount of coffee that you will be able to use in two weeks or less. Coffee begins to lose its freshness almost immediately after roasting, so it is better to purchase it in smaller quantities.

Tip 3 - Keep the coffee airtight and cool- Air, moisture, heat and light are BAD for your coffee. The more exposure coffee has to these elements, the quicker it will become stale. Follow these simple coffee bean storage tips and you will surely enjoy some of the best coffee you have ever tasted, especially if it is Driven Coffee.
